Republicans to be the only lifeline for authorities in complicated external situations: Artak Zakaryan
It does not matter for the Republican party whether to head to snap elections with the acting electoral code or the amended one, former deputy defense minister, Republican party member Artak Zakaryan wrote in his Facebook page.
“Two days ago the acting PM Pashinyan was trying to explain from the NA which Electoral Code is favorable for the Republican party. In reality, it does not matter for the Republican party with what Electoral Code the elections will be organized as the resources for confronting challenges and threats Armenia is facing does not depend on it,” he wrote, stressing that the danger is that today a chaos and fed euphoria is created in the political field and in the state governance system which has muted the political rationality and the political idea in general.
“The imitation of anti-corruption fight has turned into “Criminal Armenia” TV series and does not allow to pay proper attention to the issues vital for Armenia,” he wrote, stressing that only two thing is known from Armenia’s foreign policy – “Armenian-Russian relations are brilliant” and yesterday it has been learnt that “there is real possibility to raise Armenian-American relations on a new level and Armenia is ready to use that opportunity.”
“May be this is a very significant information for the people suffering with euphoria, but means nothing for the foreign policy and security of a country which is in the epicenter of new possible clashes,” he wrote.
“We have received rather remarkable messages from Bolton, i.e. the official Washington, a state that calls us to return some territories to Azerbaijan. One of the messages is that according to Bolton if the prime minister receives the support of the majority of the people and gets stong mandate he may undertake serious resolute changes. At the same time Bolton claims that the Karabakh issue is rather complicated and if it was easy it would have been settled long time ago and that the best way for Armenia to reduce foreign pressures is to ensure Karabakh conflict settlement. The USA demands quick settlement of the issue which means that the next prime minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government will be under external pressures from OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries as well," he wrote.
“As strange as it may sound but in the created situation the Republican party will be the only lifeline for Nikol Pashinyan from all the complicated external situations and for ensuring effecient management. Of course the Republican party will not do it for the big love toward the prime minister and its tolerance but stemming from the security of the own country and people, from the interests of the Artsakh issue. The upgraded Republican party will be the only political opposition stronghold on which the future authorities will be able to lean for the sake of the state and the people,” Zakaryan wrote, urging the PM stop worrying about the Republican party’s fate regarding the Electoral Code and stop the political terror over the political forces and come into terms with the force which will be the only real partner in future in the opposition field together with who it is necessary to fight for secure, peaceful Armenia.
