Violence in politics to receive toughest counteraction: Nikol Pashinyan
No person convicted for murder should be amnestied, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today.
At the same time, he stated that in case of life convicts early release or change of penalty may be applied. He stressed that the criminal cases of life convicts should get individual approach.

As to the possibility of applying amnesty toward Nork armed gang, Pashinyan said, “My opinion is that no person who killed anyone should be amnestied in the Republic of Armenia. I want to make it clear – I want to exclude violence as a tool in Armenia. My position is clear, exerting violence in politics will receive toughest counteraction, the persecution of any of such case will start from the level of statements and preparations. I do not even say that we should not allow it reach the implementation phase. Anyway, until I am Armenia’s PM any attempt of violence in the political processes will get toughest legal counteraction.”
As to why Sasna Tsrer are being amnestied for their violence, Pashinyan reiterated his statement, “It is being done to restore solidarity and ensure starting point for my mentioned principle.”
