Armenia’s acting DM receives OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs
Armenia’s acting defense minister Davit Tonoyan received today OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Stephane Visconti of France, and Andrew Schofer of the United States of America together with the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk who arrived in Armenia on a regional visit.
With the request of the guests, Tonoyan referred to the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and on the Line of Contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
The acting minister emphasized the importance of the arrangement achieved between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Dushanbe over establishing operative communication, voicing hope that the co-chairing countries will exert efforts for establishment and functioning of operative communication in other directions as well.
Stressing that the Armenian armed forces are watchful and control all the moves on the border, Tonoyan said that in the created conditions the preservation of ceasefire regime, implementation of measures addressed toward prevention of incidents and reduction of risks by the sides is of core importance.
