Adoption of amended Electoral Code fails for not being PM’s priority: Daniel Ioannisyan
Secretary of the government-affiliated commission set up for amendments in the Electoral Code Daniel Ioannisyan reaffirmed his position, claiming that the amendments in the Electoral Code failed due to not being a priority for the acting PM.
“The adoption of the Electoral Code, despite being main step of the revolution, has not found place among the PM’s priorities,” he wrote in Facebook.
“In such conditions it is not a surprise that the Republican party and ARF-D a bit, managed to ensure the failure of the law. It would have been better to conduct elections in spring with amended Electoral Code than now with the old one. As a result, we are going to have semi-political elections and development of political culture will fall behind for five years,” Ioannisyan wrote.
