Nobody to impose anything on Karabakh conflict parties: EU diplomat

The policy of the European Union in the Nagorno Karabakh issue is very simple - the EU supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group, head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski told the reporters today.

“The three co-chairs have just conducted number of meetings in Armenia and we appreciate their efforts very much. It is clear for the EU that the solution to the conflict has to be decided and elaborated by the parties themselves. The Minsk Group co-chairs serve as mediators, but nobody will be imposing anything on the parties as it should be something they should elaborate themselves,” Świtalski said, asked to comment on possibility of conflict solution based on demand of return of territories.

“We never lose our optimism that one day we will arrive at such a situation,” the diplomat stressed.
