Former chief investigator of March 1, 2008 case charged with falsification of evidences
Former chief investigator of March 1, 2, 2008 case has been charged with falsification of evidences.
Special Investigation Service reports that the preliminary investigation of the criminal case over March 1,2, 2018 unrest in Yerevan revealed that being a senior investigator during the 2007-2011 period in Armenia’s Special Investigation Service, V.H. falsified evidences during the preliminary investigation of grave crimes under his proceeding involving separate investigators and police officials as well as expert A.H. into his illegal activities.
According to accusations, V.H. was appointed head of investigative group set up to investigate criminal cases filed after March 1, 2 2008 unrest.
Being in the post, he revealed during the preliminary investigation that different divisions of the Armenian Defense Ministry’s armed forces actively participated in the clashes between the demonstrators and the police and used weapon. Knowing it all, and having all the necessary proves, V.H. undertook measures to hide the real circumstances of the illegal use of weapons by the armed forces, did not undertake any actions to reveal the circumstances of murder of a group of people, abused power and falsified the evidences.
V.H. has been involved as a defendant in the criminal case on falsifying evidences. A. H. has been involved in the criminal case for assistance in falsifying evidences.
The two are currently wanted.
Armenia’s Special Investigation Service investigator has filed a petition to the court to choose arrest as preventive measure against them.
Investigation is underway.
