Armenian parliament approves bill on declaring amnesty
The Armenian parliament approved the bill on declaring amnesty at the second and final reading today.
75 lawmakers voted for the bill. At the first reading the bill was backed by 72 MPs.
As to life convicts, acting justice minister Artak Zeynalyan said, there are 93 life convicts in Armenia and an individual approach will be displayed toward them in the amnesty issue.
The amnesty is being declared on the occasion of 2800th anniversary of Erebuni-Yerevan and 100th anniversary of First Armenian Republic.
