Accusation against former chief investigator of March 1 case has no relation to 10 murders
The court completed the examination of the petition on arresting former head of investigating group dealing with March 1, 2008 criminal case.
The court will publish its decision on November 2, Harutyunyan’s attorney Mihran Poghosyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
He said that the Special Investigation Service has declared search for Harutyunyan in case when the latter called the SIS investigator and informed about his whereabouts and gave phone numbers.
Harutyunan has told about it in a detailed conversation with Aysor.am.
The attorney claimed that inviting Harutyunyan as a witness was formal. "When they learnt that he is not in Armenia they decided to choose arrest as a preventive measure to show as if Harutyunyan is avoiding to show up to SIS," he said.
Vahagn Harutyunyan is accused of organization of falsification of evidences relating to a grave crime.
Speaking about the accusation, Poghosyan said that the accusation has no relation to the circumstances of death of 10 victims during March 1, 2008 unrest.
According to accusation, Harutyunyan falsified the evidences. As to the observation that if not falsified evidences the 10 murders would have possibly be revealed, the attorney said that it is an investigative secret and he cannot provide such information.
“But I assure you that even if the forwarded accusation is proved it has no relation to death circumstances of the 10 victims,” he said.
Besides, the attorney said that the expiration date of the forwarded accusation has passed long ago, and the case must be suspended.
