Violations registered in majority of 150 small hydro power plants: Nikol Pashinyan
Theoretically all know that small hydro power plants, in essence, have become a platform for huge abuse, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the NA today.
“Recently we have conducted studies in 150 out of 188 small hydro power plants in Armenia. In 95% cases no water meters were placed there which is a violation of law,” Pashinyan stressed.
He added that in the majority of them generators not corresponding to license demands are placed.
“We have a situation when more water and more electricity is used for using stronger generators, for getting more income. This all results in the violation of our water balance, loss of state income. Now we should work over restoring the lost income,” the acting PM said.
