Representative of Belarus may become new secretary general of CSTO
Representative of Belarus Stanislav Zasya may become new secretary general of the CSTO, Russian Kommersant writes.
Citing diplomatic sources in the three CSTO member states, the paper writes that “there is a big possibility of appointing Belarus representative in the post of the secretary general of the CSTO for the upcoming three years.” The right of nominating candidate is passing to the member states with rotation principle.
The sources said that the final decision will be made at the meeting of the leaders of the CSTO countries in Astana on November 8.
The CSTO secretary general Yuri Khachaturov has been recalled from the post agreed with the charges filed against him.
