CSTO secretary general’s post belongs to Armenia until 2020
Armenia’s acting defense minister Davit Tonoyan refused to comment on the possible nomination of former defense minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan in the post of CSTO secretary general.
“Let us wait a few days and it will become clear. I have stated several times that this post belongs to Armenia until 2020. We need to wait. There are certain normative regulations. The decision must be made by the leaders of the member states. Now it is our turn,” Tonoyan stressed.
As to whether Harutyunyan will be appointed CSTO secretary general, Tonoyan said, “I am not aware of it.”
