Armenia is building army of 21st century: DM spokesperson
Armenia is building army of 21st century, Armenia’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote in his Facebook page, referring to Armenia’s acquisition of new fighter jets.
“Hearing negative assessments over multifunctional air force especially from former heads of armed forces who have triumphant past is especially painful, but on the other hand, there is nothing strange. Each person has right to express his opinion, but we are building army of the 21st century,” Hovhannisyan wrote.
The comment came after former deputy prime minister of Karabakh Artur Aghabekyan referred to the statement of Armenia’s acting defense minister Davit Tonoyan about Armenia’s plans to acquire Su-30 fighter jets. “I consider it to be my duty to state that fight jets had nothing to do in our military stage yesterday and neither it has its place today. Especially nowadays when high technology is dynamically developing the usage of these jets will be impossible. By the way, it has been recently stated by Russian political leadership as well,” Aghabekyan wrote in his Facebook page.
