Establishment of operative communication between commanders of Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces discussed with Minsk Group co-chairs: acting DM
The operative communication between Armenia and Azerbaijan is intended for special officials in Armenia and Azerbaijan. The communication is being established via these officials, Armenia’s acting defense minister Davit Tonoyan told the reporters today.
“These officials receive information from the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Till now the communication functioned without any problems, the arrangements reached in Dushanbe are still in force,” Tonoyan said.
Asked about possibility of establishing operative communication between separate military units or commanders of armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan and whether the Defense Army participates in this operative communication, Tonoyan said, “We are raising this issue. It is a powerful means to prevent accidents. We have raised the issue before the Minsk Group co-chairs, we want to have such communication as well. The same refers to Defense Army.”
