Azerbaijani forces do not occupy any territory in Nakhijevan: acting DM
Armenia’s acting defense minister Davit Tonoyan officially stated that the Azerbaijani armed forces have not occupied any territory in Nakhijevan.
“It was a territory between the forces. This territory has never been under control of Armenian armed forces. We have applied measures to neutralize possible actions that could have taken place in such conditions,” Tonoyan said.
He also stressed that there is certain issue relating nearby settlements.
“We are in periodical contacts with local population and are working with them, explaining that they should not treat the change of the position as a threat to them. All the possible risks have been reduced to minimum,” Tonoyan stressed.
The acting minister said the issue has several times been voiced at the meetings with international partners.
“I think there already exists a solution,” Tonoyan said.
