Legal regulatory normative field worked out in CSTO to continue discussions of secretary general candidates: MFA spokesperson
The discussions over the appointment of new secretary general of the CSTO in Astana on November 8 were postponed till December 6 due to failure to reach consensus over the issue, spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan told the reporters today.
“A decision has been made to continue the discussions in St. Petersburg on December 6. Before it a legal normative field is to be worked out for regulation of such situations. Only after this process it will be possible to pass to the next phase,” Naghdalyan said, asked whether Armenia is going to nominate candidate at December 6 session.
“We have our vision of the solution of the situation which though may not coincide with the viewpoints of the other member states. As a country having big contribution to the strengthening of the organization, Armenia may state that it has enough resources to accomplish its term of office in the post of the CSTO secretary general,” Naghdalyan said.
