OSCE/ODIHR to conduct wide-scale election observation mission in Armenia
Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan met today the main staff of OSCE/ODIHR mission that will observe parliamentary elections in Armenia on December 9.
During the meeting the CEC chairman attached significance to the observation mission carried out by OSCE/ODIHR.
Highly assessing the role and significance of the mission in the improvement of electoral legislation, Mukuchyan presented the works the CEC has carried out for conduction and organization of elections in Armenia.
OSCE/ODIHR observation mission head, ambassador Urszula Gacek briefed on the methodology of the mission and noted that they are planning to carry out wide-scale observation mission in Armenia.
She said the mission comprises of main staff (13 members), about 20 long-term observers and more than 200 short-term observers that will observe the election processes on the voting day.
Gacek said that later observers from OSCE PA and Council of Europe PA will join the mission.
