Armenia, Karabakh to sign contract on establishing military-political union

Armenia and Artsakh will soon sign a contract on establishing military-political union, Artsakh Security Council Secretary Vitaly Balasanyan said, speaking to Aravot.am.

“We should have this document which will register that Armenia is security guarantor of people of Artsakh. The key phrase here is “guarantor of people’s security” and not “guarantor of territorial integrity” as today we have territories controlled by Azerbaijan,” Balasanyan said.

He said the Armenian authorities received the proposal in May and accepted it.

Balasanyan said corresponding instructions were given, works were carried out and the package of documents is already ready.

“Agreed with recent domestic political developments in Armenia the process has been postponed a bit. But I am convinced that after snap parliamentary elections in Armenia, after a while, we will have this document signed,” Balasanyan said.
