Armenia’s acting PM, Catholicos of All Armenians convinced in peaceful conduction of upcoming elections
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited today Holy See of St. Etchmiadzin and met with His Holiness, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II.
During the meeting Pashinyan stressed that he is always happy to be in Etchmiadzin and is planning to visit it often in future as well.
“The Holy See has a special significance for our people, and we should visit it from time to time. It is the best place to think about past and the future,” the acting PM said.
Referring to the domestic political processes in Armenia the parties expressed conviction that the upcoming snap parliamentary elections will pass in atmosphere of peace and solidarity just like the mayoral elections in Yerevan and municipal elections in provinces.
“The elections in Armenia will definitely pass in peaceful atmosphere. Hence it will always be so. Our people are going to make a decision which will become our political reality. This is one of the prior achievements of the changes that have taken place in Armenia,” Pashinyan said.
“We wish and we pray for the upcoming elections to result in national unity and help people jointly combat the challenges Armenia is facing,” Catholicos said.
