No additional taxes to be applied without public consent: Acting deputy PM
No additional taxes will be added without public consent, without public discussions, acting first deputy PM Ararat Mirzoyan said at an extraordinary cabinet sitting today referring to the taxation of transfers.
“It is excluded. Many ideas may be discussed and be distorted and commented in a wrong way. But they may also be presented in a real way and either be approved or not by the people,” he said.
Mirzoyan said that such initiative may be brought into life only in case of wide public consent.
“The idea is to apply general system of income declaration where all the citizens must declare their incomes,” he said.
Mirzoyan stressed that it is necessary to first of all understand how much Armenia is ready for it.
“Even if adopted it must be brought into life with the exclusion of double taxation of the income,” he said.
The acting deputy PM stressed that it is just an idea that should be discussed. “We will weight its positive and negative sides and only then make a decision,” he said.
