Artak Zeynalyan, ICRC delegation head discuss issues relating Armenian captive in Azerbaijan Karen Ghazaryan
Armenia’s acting justice minister Artak Zeynalyan received today newly appointed head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation to Armenia Claire Meytraud.
The acting minister highly assessed the cooperation between the Justice Ministry of Armenia and the ICRC and expressed readiness to boost the partnership.
Claire Meytraud in her turn thanked the acting minister for reception and briefed on the ICRC activity. The head of the delegation also referred to the future opportunities of cooperation.
During the meeting the parties also discussed issues on keeping conditions of the Armenian captive in Azerbaijan Karen Ghazaryan.
Claire Meytraud said that the ICRC representatives regularly visit Karen Ghazaryan and are planning another visit in the nearest future. She added that they are in constant contact with Ghazaryan’s family.
The ICRC representative also said that their establishment has no authority to be engaged in talks on release of the captives.
