People against sharing own income with state: Vahram Baghdasaryan
People do not want to pay taxes from incomes received from their family members, head of the Republican faction Vahram Baghdasaryan said, referring to the bill proposed by the State Revenue Committee.
“Transfers have serious influence on the economy of our country. We had serious issues in 90s and managed to stabilize the situation thanks to transfers,” he said, adding that the issue should be treated attentively, as the people will find other ways of sending money to their relatives.
“They want to have shares from the sums sent by their family members. If 70% of those gathered in the rally are asked what they want, they would say raise of salaries and pensions. But people do not want to understand that it is possible only through taxes. They are thinking of their incomes. They are thinking why the incomes they get from their relatives must be taxed. They put this issue clearly and it is normal,” he said.
Earlier it has been reported that the SRC is proposing to tax the transfers by 23%.
