Allowances amounting to 500 million AMD stolen from insecure families: Acting PM
The Armenian government is not planning to cut or cancel the allowances, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a news conference today.
The acting PM stressed that they are aimed at addressing these allowances in the right direction.
“What we tell is, if a family is insecure, more probably there is a child there, let us give this allowance to the child,” Pashinyan said.
He said the unemployed people who get allowance do not want to get job not to be deprived of this allowance. “The allowance should not be given as a verdict – continue being poor, but to help them overcome the poverty,” he said.
Pashinyan also said that examination is underway agreed with a number of abuses in the sector.
“Allowances amounting 500 million AMD have been stolen from not only the state but insecure families as well,” he said.
