Belarus' actions may be assessed as encouragement of invasion of Armenian capital by Azerbaijan: Acting PM
President of Belarus has never invited Armenian ambassador and discussed with him any issues while according to the CSTO Charter Armenia and Belarus are military-political allies, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a news conference today.
“Was there a case when president of Belarus invited Armenian ambassador and said - you know we are negotiating with Azerbaijan, they want to buy weapon from us. No, no such case happened while the CSTO Charter says we are military-political allies,” Pashinyan said.
He stressed that it is at least strange when a president of CSTO member state reveals content of CSTO closed discussion to enemy country of another member state.
“Are you selling this weapon for them to invade our capital? Does it mean you encourage their idea?” Pashinyan said, claiming that the previous authorities remained silent when such statements were made.
“They did not tell anything because they were not guided by Armenia’s interests, they were counting how many businesses they have there and what consequences their statements may have,” Pashinyan stressed, adding that the new situation is that Armenia is represented by a person who does not have any business anywhere and is not afraid what consequence his pro-Armenian statements may have in Moscow, Minsk or Bishkek.
