ARF-D faction head warns to treat Bolton’s statements seriously
There are two reasons for hasty snap parliamentary elections in Armenia with the first one being the growing criticism of the acting authorities, ARF-D faction head Armen Rustamyan told the reporters today.
“I see two simple reasons, first, the more time passes the more criticism is voiced against acting authorities. People’s expectations are big and the hope is enough to balance these expectations. But time comes when this balance is being violated – the expectations remain but the hope gradually fades away, thus it is necessary to conduct elections until this hope exists,” Rustamyan explained.
The second reason he said is agreed with foreign political issues. “I do not exclude that in near future we will witness new proposals for the Karabakh conflict settlement,” he said, reminding the statement of U.S. President advisor John Bolton about possibility to settle Karabakh issue if having people’s confidence.
The faction head said Bolton’s statements should be viewed seriously as the assessment that Karabakh conflict may be settled only by the authorities enjoying high public confidence is a right one.
“The issue may be settled by the authorities the words of which are being perceived by the people as molten oil. This situation is favorable for foreign forces. They do not care whether people live in poverty they just have geo-political issues to solve. In this game Armenia may become a small change,” he stressed.
