Armenian parliament approves 2019 state budget draft
Armenian National Assembly approved the 2019 state budget draft at its sitting today. The bill has been backed by 66 lawmakers, 4 voted against it and 2 abstained from voting.
The government representatives stated that the 2019 budget is inertial. The Republican party MPs stated that they vote for the budget for the country not to remain without it, though some the faction MPs voted against it.
Before the voting NA vice speaker Eduard Sharmazanov stated that it is not inertial budget as the government members call it but a regression budget. He stated that this budget will not result in the development of country’s economy but the opposite will result in its regress.
Another Republican MP Arpine Hovhannisyan said that this budget will not ensure the implementation of promises given by the government. The same opinion was stated by Armen Ashotyan. “The situation in the country does not show any prospect for economic development,” he said.
Head of the Republcian faction Vahram Baghdasaryan said that some MPs of the faction were allowed to freely express their opinion over the draft budget and vote as they want.
