New military IDs to be issued by December 5: deputy DM
Deputy defense minister Gabriel Balanyan submitted a bill setting rules on providing material compensation in case of renting apartment by the servicemen if they are not provided place of living by the ministry.
Accoridng to the bill, if serviceman's family consists of up to 4 members, he will receive 65,000 AMD compensation, if 4 and more 85,000 AMD in Yerevan. In other towns servicemen having up to four family members will get 38,000 AMD, four and more 50,000. In other settlements servicemen having up to four will get 20,000 and 4 and more 25,000 AMD.
Balayan said this bill relates to all the servicemen of Defense Ministry, National Security Service, Police.
Acting Prime Minister asked whether it is possible to help them acquire apartment nstead and with this means help to pay loan, Balayan said the issue was discussed but the long-term servicemen stated they do not want to fall under loan.
As to the complaint of a number of servicemen that in their military IDs nothing is written about participation in the April war, Balayan said that it cannot be written "participants of military actions" as this term means at least 3 months of participation in military activities. He said it may be registered as "military duty".
Acting PM’s assistant Nairi Sargsyan said the issue is more of moral nature as servicemen want their duty in April be registered in military IDs.
“We too were on duty during April war, but I do not consider me to be participant of the war,” Pashinyan said.
Balayan said by December 5 new military IDs will be issued where information about combat duty in April will be fixed.
