New parliament to be legitimate, to serve its whole term: Acting PM to Sefilyan
The new parliament will have a long life, acting PM Nikol Pashinyan stated at a march today, responding to the statements of the head of Sasna Tsrer electoral headquarters Zhirayr Sefilyan who stated that the new parliament to be formed on December 9 will not have a long life.
Sefilyan also said it will exist maximum 1.5-2 years after which new elections will be held. One of the reasons Sefilyan said is the failure to implement the promises to make radical changes which though have not been carried out till now. Among these changes Sefilyan mentioned amended Electoral Code, suspension of the activity of the Republican party.
Speaking today Pashinyan voiced conviction that the new parliament will serve its full term – 5 years.
“It is the decision of the people. No one can decide instead of the people. This parliament will be legitimate, will enjoy people’s trust as these elections will be free, fair and transparent,” Pashinyan said, stressing that the international establishments have already registered the progress regarding freedom of speech in Armenia.
