Judge remains unresponsive to statement about Kocharyan’s arrest on December 1
The information about arrest of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan on December 1 published today in the Armenian press was voiced by Kocharyan’s attorney Hayk Alumyan at the court session today.
“I opened the press today and read the information. As far as I had no right to address questions to the judge I came up with a statement and asked in the end for the judge to make comments over my statements. But he did not tell anything. I have also said that such information has been released twice,” Alumyan told the reporters, after leaving the court room.
He said that the pressures on court are obvious and warned against raising hatred toward judges. As a pressure the attorney mentioned the public statements made by acting PM.
“The pressures are not just calling from Baghramyan 26. There were previously such things, and I have always given strict assessments to them. But today’s pressures are unprecedented,” Alumyan said.
