Armenia may become good platform for different startups: President Sarkissian discusses cooperation issues with German Chancellor

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin.

Hailing the official visit of the Armenian president to Germany, Merkel stressed that she has very good memories from her latest visit to Armenia.

She said she is particularly impressed with TUMO creative technology center and as of the moment the German side is discussing cooperation opportunities.

“Armenia views Germany as important political and economic partner and a friend,” President Sarkissian said, noting that he is very happy for the meeting and another opportunity to discuss issues on expansion of Armenian-German relations.

He said that the two countries may successfully cooperate in the high and information technology sectors where Armenia has a big potential. “Our country may be a good platform for different startups,” Sarkissian said.

During the meeting the parties also rated high the expansion of effective cooperation established in the spheres of culture and science, talked about partnership in the sphere of tourism and exchanged ideas over possibility of establishment free-visa regime.
