Issue on arresting lawmaker Aram Harutyunyan to be discussed at December 4 NA session
The petition on depriving lawmaker from Republican faction Aram Harutyunyan of immunity and arresting will be discussed at the December 4 regular session of the National Assembly.
Considering the ongoing campaign it feels impossible to ensure quorum for “handing” Aram Harutyunyan.
Aysor.am sources report that the acting PM Nikol Pashinyan’s team on behalf of Yelk faction is undertaking huge efforts for ensuring the necessary number of MPs in the parliament on that day.
The order for starting a criminal proceeding against a lawmaker and depriving him of deputy immunity is set by the Article 108 of NA Regulation.
During the session the Prosecutor General and the MP mentioned in the petition come up with speeches lasting about 20 minutes each, afterwards exchange of ideas takes place. The Prosectuor General and the MP are given 20 minutes each for concluding speech.
If the lawmaker mentioned in the petition does not attend the session with ungrounded reasons the petition is being discussed without him.
The decision of depriving an MP from immunity and starting a criminal procedure against him is being made at a closed voting.
