Combination of necessary proves for MP’s arrest possible on November 30: Prosecutor General’s Office issues a statement
Armenian Prosecutor General’s office has come up with a statement referring to the allegations of some political forces that the case with lawmaker Aram Harutyunyan has been initiated in this period of pre-electoral campaign on purpose.
“We consider it necessary to note that the combination of necessary proves for arresting lawmaker Aram Harutyunyan has become possible only on November 30 with the data received as a result of corresponding investigative activities. The other cause of urgent necessity of petition is the fact that Aram Harutyunyan failed to come to the investigative body after being invited on the same day,” the statement reads.
"Taking into consideration the circumstance that the interest of preliminary investigation is of much more importance than the social-political developments and the current agenda, the ungrounded, cheap assessments voiced in the address of politically neutral, independent body - Prosecutor General’s Office - and attempts of making an anti-propaganda tool of it are inadmissible.
