Belarus representative to be appointed CSTO secretary general: Lukashenko
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that representative of Belarus will become CSTO secretary general, Interfax reports.
“We were about to conduct a unexpected session of the CSTO. We may say that the issue of the appointment of the CSTO secretary general has been solved,” Lukashenko stated in St. Petersburg, BelTA agency cited him as saying.
To the specifying question Lukashenko said that the representative of Belarus will be CSTO secretary general.
“Just in a way stated earlier by president of Kazakhakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. But we agreed to systematic, scheduled appointment, - individual interview in the CSTO with each head of state and the signing of corresponding decision,” Lukashenko said.
