Over 774 million AMD allocated for solution of urgent issues in Armenia’s Shirak and Lori regions: Acting Minister
Acting territorial administration minister Suren Papikyan briefed today at the outgoing cabinet sitting on the works carried out in 2018 in the disaster zone and those to be carried out in 2019.
He said 774 million 425,000 AMD has been allocated in 2018 for the solution of issues of the Armenian regions of Shirak and Lori.
“About 354 million 915,000 AMD has been allocated to Shirak and 419 million 510,000 AMD to Lori for the implementation of 54 projects in over 45 settlements,” Papikyan said.
Within the framework of the same project over 42 million have been allocated for the communities of Shirak and Lori.
The acting minister said that over 222,654,700 AMD has been allocated to the Armenian Transport, Communication and IT Ministry for the restoration of 4 roads in Shirak and Lori provinces. The works will continue in 2019 too.
“Seven projects in Armenia’s Lori and Shirak provinces are being implemented with the funds provided by Armenia’s Territorial Development Fund. Two of the projects are expected to be completed in 2019. The total cost of the program is 1 billion 939 million 574,000 AMD,” Papikyan.
Papikyan also said that over 1,082,100 AMD has been allocated in the sidelines of the “Gyumri Urban Roads” grant project implemented with the assistance of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
He stressed that the USAID has provided 1 million 486,900 AMD for acquiring road construction equipment, agricultural equipment, etc for Amasia, Arpi, Sarapat and Ashotsk communities.
The acting minister said that regional development pilot projects are being carried out in Armenia’s Shirak and Lori with the cooperation with the EU.
