CEC secretary says no conclusions over low voter turnout should be made yet

The Armenian Central Electoral Commission has carried out a great work for the conduction of snap parliamentary elections in Armenia, CEC secretary Armen Smbatyan said.

In particular, the people were notified to participate in the elections, notifications have been sent about the order of voting. He said 30 million ballots were printed for which 50 tons of paper were spent. Smbatyan did not brief on amount of the spent sum but noted that the funds were provided by donor organizations.

According to information, totally 7 million USD were spent for preparation works.

Asked about low turnout, the CEC secretary again called on the citizens to go to polling stations and vote for the sake of the future of the country.

He also said that it is early to speak about low turnout as there is still time till 8 p.m.
