No decision over CSTO secretary general appointment made: Nikol Pashinyan
Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is convinced that there are more serious issues than the appointment of CSTO secretary general.
“Armenia has already expressed its position. I have said that the issue of the appointment of the CSTO secretary general is not the most important issue as Armenia’s tenure in the establishment will come to an end. Let’s suppose it is Khachaturov. In 2020 he is not. Is this the problem? No it is not the problem. There are more serious problems and they were seriously discussed at the EAEU economic council’s session,” he said, asked whether the Armenian side is for the appointment of Belarus representative in the post.
He also said that the decision of the appointment has not been made yet. “No decision has been made over the issue. The decisions in the CSTO are being made via consensus while CSTO session has not taken place and everything is said with it,” Pashinyan said.
