Armenia’s acting first deputy PM does not consider voter turnout to be low at today’s early NA elections
Acting first vice PM Ararat Mirzoyan does not consider the voter turnout at today’s elections low.
“It is neither low, nor high. Besides we should know from what number we calculate the percentage. There are many claims that the number of people in the country is less than the registered number of voters traditionally presented to us. On the other side it was a rainy day. And finally in highly democratic social systems high voter turnout is not being registered,” he said adding that the medal has two sides.
Asked about My Step’s expectations from the CEC work and whether it will trust the data published by the institution, Mirzoyan said that during these days he met with international observers who stressed that despite the same Electoral Code, the same CEC staff completely other electoral processes have been organized. “In this regard the figures are trustworthy,” he said.
As of 8 p.m. he voter turnout is 48.63% of eligible voters or 1, 260,840 people.
