Elections in Armenia transparent and open: CIS observation mission head
Parliamentary elections in Armenia were held in accordance with Constitution and Electoral Code, CIS observers said at a news conference convened to sum up the observation mission.
“We confirm that the Electoral Code allows conduction of free and democratic elections,” Viktor Guminsky, head of the CIS observation mission said.
He said that the elections were transparent and open with all the conditions ensured for expression of free will by the voters.
At the same time he noted about the necessity to specify the separate norms of the Electoral Code relating to the voters with disabilities.
Guminsky also positively assessed the work of the Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission, but stressed that a number of cases of damaging electoral posters have been registered.
