Yerevan court examines petition on arrest of ex deputy PM Armen Gevorgyan
Examination of petition on the arrest of ex deputy PM Armen Gevorgyan started at Yerevan court of general jurisdiction chaired by judge Arman Hovhannisyan, Aysor.am correspondent reports.
Special Investigation Service filed a petition to the court to arrest Gevorgyan.
The ex high ranking official is charged in the sidelines of March 1 criminal case with the Article 300.1 for assistance to overthrowing constitutional order in the country.
The SIS is also accusing Gevorgyan of taking big amount of bribe and money laundering.
Before the launch of the session, Gevorgyan, speaking to reporters, said he does not admit the charges. “I am familiarized with the charge and do not admit it. I will answer to the other questions after the session,” Gevorgyan said.
