Armen Gevorgyan to continue working hard to prove his innocence
The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction has made a fair decision considering the arguments we have presented, ex deputy PM Armen Gevorgyan said after the court denied the SIS’s petition to arrest Gevorgyan.
The former high ranking official though said that it does not mean that everything is over.
“We will continue working, presenting our arguments, grounding our innocence and proving that the accusations are ungrounded,” Gevorgyan said.
He also said that for already two day he fails to go to work and his employer is rather frustrated. “Let me now go to work,” Gevorgyan said, refusing to answer other questions of reporters.
The reporters though reminded yesterday’s words of attorney who said if the court denies petition the statement made by Gevorgyan in the court will be presented.
Former high ranking official said in his statement he tried to present the way he passed, what he dealt with during the past 20 years, the principles he based on in his work in the state system, the usefulness of his activity for the state and asked the court to consider it all while making the decision.
As to the relation to March 1 case he said the investigation will reveal all the circumstances and added that there are decisions which clearly fix the guilt of each. “It was a surprise to me that additions were made in my case after 4 months. In August when I was charged with impeding the implementation of justice all others were charged with overthrowing constitutional order. What has changed during these four months, I do not know,” he said, asking for time to think. He also said that he will more probably convene a press conference during these days to answer all the questions of reporters.
