Armenia refuses buying Belarusian Polonez, says it has Russian Iskander: Lukashenko
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarus has offered Yerevan to buy Polonez complex of Belarusian production which Minsk supplies to Baku, but Armenia has declined the offer, RIA Novosti reports.
“Yes, Azerbaijanis are not strangers to me, but we were together with you [Armenians] as well, and you should not accuse us of selling weapon to Azerbaijan,” Lukashenko said, adding that he does not understand why they are being criticized.
“We have used Polonez missile system and we have invited Armenians, Azerbaijanis and Russians to be present at testing them,” Lukashenko said at a press conference with Russian journalists.
He said during the testing Azerbaijanis liked the system and asked to sell it to them.
“We are to pay off the loan. The Chinese have given us loan. I say, ok, I will sell you the weapon, and I tell Armenians I am ready to sell it to you too. Armenians refused saying they have Russian Iskander,” Lukashenko said, adding that Moscow tops the list of countries selling weaponry to Baku.
