Artur Baghdasaryan leaves active politics, to return only at people’s wish

Rule of Law party convened today its congress with the participation of heads of all territorial structures from all the regions and the capital, party’s press service reports.

Opening the congress, party’s chairman Artur Baghdasaryan thanked the 12,000 citizens who voted for the party and congratulated the forces that passed to the parliament.

Addressing the present and the people, Baghdasaryan stated about his decision to leave the active politics and put aside the authorities of the party chairman.

“I will deal with public activity and will try to promote the solution of country’s issues by public proposals. I will return to active politics only in case of people’s wish when I feel the need and the necessity. God save our people,” Baghdasaryan said.

The party members voted and unanimously elected Hovhannes Hovhannisian as party’s new chairman. The deputy chairs of the party have been elected Karine Sargsyan, Vahe Torosyan and Simon Hakobyan.
