Armenian MFA refers to Azerbaijani FM’s statement, 'unveils' the mutual understanding reached between FMs
Armenian Foreign Ministry has informed about the arrangement reached between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan during the meeting in Milan. It was particularly reported that “Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mammadyarov agreed to continue meetings in near future to maintain the formed dynamics,” MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan stated, commenting on the statement of Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov about reaching mutual understanding at the meeting in Milan.
“Another arrangement was reached over joint statement of heads of foreign ministries of the two countries and heads of delegations of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries. Such format statements were not adopted for quite a long time while in Milan it became possible to reach consent over the text of the statement,” she said.
Armenia’s acting foreign minister referred to that statement in his speech on December 6 at the OSCE Ministerial Council, stressing the importance of the arrangement over the text of the statement and adoption of five-sided statement. He added that the statement reiterates the significance of the mutual understanding reached in Dushanbe on working intensively for weakening the tension in the conflict zone and promoting the peace.
