Social blow to thousands of people on background of ungrounded luxury spending has nothing to do with declared goals: Ashotyan on optimization of state governance system

Vice chairman of the Republican party, former education and science minister Armen Ashotyan referred today to the optimization of ministries in Armenia.

In a Facebook post the former official wrote that Education and Science Ministry is a very big structure and works at full capacity, carrying out great number of functions and it will not handle any new loads.

As to Ministry of Culture, Ashotyan wrote that all the countries who value the issue of preservation of national identity, who have huge cultural heritage have Ministry of Culture.

No one in Greece, Italy or Serbia will think of closing Ministry of Culture, he wrote.

Referring to the Diaspora Ministry, Ashotyan stressed that its creation had two goals – the first was to handle the whole potential of Diaspora and secondly it was a serious message in the foreign policy especially if to consider the challenges in the Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. He stressed that today’s MFA will not manage to fully solve the existing issues.

Ashotyan concluded that the optimization of state governance system cannot be an end in itself and on the background of luxury spending with rather suspicious grounding this social blow to thousands of people has no relation to the declared goals.
