NA chairman meets with president, acting PM and Catholicos ahead of ending his tenure
Armenian National Assembly chairman Ara Babloyan met with Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II ahead of ending his term in the office.
NA press service reports that during the meeting the parties attached significance to the role of the legislative body in the progress of the country which passed to the parliamentary governance system, and particularly improvement of the legislation field, implementation of oversight functions, strengthening of civil society, transparency of legislative activity, etc.
The parties also summed up and evaluated the law-making activity of the parliament of 6th convocation, its work in international platforms.
They expressed hope that the newly elected National Assembly will continue the formed parliamentary traditions giving new impetus and quality to the activity of the legislative body.
