2018-2022 master plan for Zvartnots and Shirak airports approved
The Armenian government has approved the 2018-2022 master plan for Zvartnots international airport and Shirak airport. The plan envisages 38,2 million USD investments as a result of which it is planned to ensure ICAO insurance standards, to reach C level of IATA service provision, improve security level and bring it to new international standards.
It is expected to restore the runaway’s 2,850 meter long and 45 meter wide sector and in parallel with it to install new light signal system.
It is also expected to restore the platform of Gyumri’s Shirak airport. After its restoration the airport will have necessary conditions for exploitation of Airbus A-320 and B757-200 planes.
