Demand of cargo transporting companies has no relation to State Revenue Committee functions: chairman

Cargo transporting companies were carrying out protest actions today in front of government building against additional tax burden implied to them.

The participants of the action were demanding solution to the issue otherwise threatened to close the streets with trucks and paralyze the traffic.

Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Davit Ananyan, speaking to reporters after cabinet sitting, said the demand of the protestors has no relation to SRC’s functions.

“I have nothing to comment on. SRC is administrative body not political,” he said, adding that if there are any legislative issues and legislative changes are necessary it is the function of another body.

Ananyan said that together with acting ministers of finance and transport they agreed to meet in the first working days of January and discuss their concerns.
