Kommersant: Gazprom raises gas price for Armenia but for consumers it will remain unchanged
At the last moment Russian Gazprom has managed to reach agreement with Armenia over raising gas price by 10% in 2019 which hence will make $165 for 1,000 cubic meters. Russian Kommersant writes that the gas price has been raised for Gazprom Armenia but Yerevan is not ready to raise prices for consumers.
Head of Gazprom Alexander Miller and acting deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan signed an additional contract on December 31 setting 10% higher price.
The paper writes that the main contract with Gazprom Armenia company was signed in 2013. After the change of power in the country Gazprom was to reach additional arrangements with the new authorities of the country.
The paper says after Nikol Pashinyan has become country’s prime minister the State Revenue Committee started revelations in Gazprom Armenia company, then in Russian Railways company.
The Armenian government claimed that from 2019 the gas price should have been reduced. As a result the parties agreed over gas price rise but the tariff for inner consumers will remain unchanged.
