The government and business sector are to discuss the amount of tax burden that will not create any risks for the restaurant sector, chairman of the State Revenue Committee Davit Ananyan told the reporters after cabinet sitting today.
Ananyan has already met with the businessmen of the sector to discuss the raise of the turnover tax by 2% from 2019 making it 8%.
“We have met with the representatives of the sector and I have briefed their concerns to the acting Prime Minister. A decision has been made to meet with the PM too,” Ananyan said, expressing confidence that a consensus will be reached over the issue.
In an interview with Aysor.am coordinator of the Union of Armenian Restaurants Ashot Barseghyan noted that in case of 8% tax the restaurants will be forced to raise the prices.
