Judge examining petition on changing second president’s preventive measure declares about self-withdrawal
Judge examining petition on changing preventive measure of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan Nelly Baghdasaryan has stated about self-withdrawal, Kocharyan’s attorney Aram Orbelyan stated after leaving the court room.
“The judge decided to uphold the petition of the investigator and prosecutor on self-withdrawal. The grounds of the decision are not clear,” Orbelyan said, adding that such decision shows that the judge avoids implementation of justice.
“We clearly see a case when a judge avoids to implement justice. The court receives a petition, gives proceeding to it, examines it, sets session on December 28, last working day of the year, then the session is being postponed for examination of self-withdrawal petition. On January 9 investigator and prosecutor declare self-withdrawal to the judge without mentioning any circumstances for it,” Orbelyan said.
