NSS should be under PM’s control: Ararat Mirzoyan

My Step bloc cannot be an opposition to the government, newly elected MP Ararat Mirzoyan told the reporters today during the ceremony of handing mandates to the newly elected MPs.

“It is nonsense, political, legal nonsense,” he said.

Speaking about the bill on changing the structure of the government, Mirzoyan said it is still being discussed.

As to his position whether the NSS and police should be controlled by the country’s PM, Mirzoyan said the issue is being discussed. To the observation that he was against such changes during the former authorities, Mirzoyan said he has offered few proposals.

“My personal position is that NSS should be under the control of the PM, as to the police, the discussions may continue,” the MP said.

As to the posts of vice speakers of parliament, he said that naturally it will be right to back the candidate of the biggest faction.
